The term broadened religion refers to a general principle of widened the understanding of what religion is and what religions can be, usually through the broadening of the definition of religion.

In the Astronist philosophy of religion, a broadened religion is a post-omnidoxical term of Cometanic origin denoting a type of definition for religion in general in which religion is considered in its widest context or understanding. Cometan often advocated for this broadened understanding of religion in his works and sayings.

An example of a broadened definition of religion is the one provided by Cometan which he considered any one object, thought, or activity taking the majority of person's time, energy, and consideration can be considered as a religion. Cometan often referred to materialism as a religion, or the money religion.
